A path is not just a path, it’s a record of many footsteps over time. Inspired by maps and walking ancient pathways, Liz has stitched her impressions of landscape, telling stories of times past and present.
Inspired by a visit to the Yorkshire Wolds to see the sites that inspired David Hockney, which resulted in Liz finding ways to record the landscape she observes on her journeys around the UK. All the landscapes are developed from Liz’s memories of the place, and are not accurate depictions.
Liz finds being in the rural landscape helps her to restore, renew and heal her spirit, maintaining the belief of the Ancient Celts that every river, tree, mountain and valley was a sanctuary, a scared place.
